Maintain Safer Sports & Fitness Spaces

BLOG Posts

It’s that time of year… fall sports are in full swing, students are back in schools, and weight rooms and locker rooms are being used more frequently. Are your current cleaning products and processes keeping up?

AIR QUALITY & ODORS:

Before we even start talking about surfaces and floors, how does it smell when you walk into your locker rooms or weight rooms? After sweaty football games or workouts, we can’t imagine it smells great. AeraMax Pro air purifiers monitor and adjust air purification based on occupancy and air condition to remove odors, mold spores, allergens, and more. Plus their Four-Stage True HEPA Filtration System removes over 99.99% of Covid-19.ߙ How about those restroom areas? Aside from regular cleaning, we highly recommend that you utilize bowl clips, urinal screens, and air fresheners that will combat odors all day long. These items offer an easy and proactive method to keep areas smelling fresh.

SURFACES:

Do you have reliable cleaning products on-hand for timely surface disinfection? Purell® Professional Surface Disinfectant is a great choice for use on workout machines, equipment, and mats. The surface spray offers 30-second disinfection of human coronavirus, norovirus, cold & flu, MRSA, and VRE. You can also use Profect® HP for disinfecting high-touch surfaces like lockers, doorknobs, and handles. Give showers a shine with ready-to-use Foamy Q & A or apply at the correct dilution with a foam gun. It cuts through rust and soap scum deposits and is effective against MRSA. It can be used on ceramic tile walls and floors, Fiberglas® shower stalls, sinks, toilet bowls, urinals, chrome, drinking fountains and other stainless-steel surfaces. RJ8® is another good option for shower area cleaning, and as a bonus, contains bleach for whitening. Pair your blue glass cleaning cloth with Clean by Peroxy® to tackle mirrors and glass surfaces. Tough urine or hard water stains? X-EFFECT® Restroom Cleaner with Citric Acid works wonders on toilet bowls, urinals, and sink fixtures.

FLOORS:

Beyond sweeping and regular damp mopping in your restroom, we recommend the SquareScrub EBG-20/C Pivot because it offers more powerful orbital scrubbing for grout cleaning, and is easy to control and operate. We suggest using Clean by Peroxy® for tile and grout cleaning. The All Cleaner™ XP is another good option for restrooms and showers. This full package machine power washes floors and walls and allows chemical hookup for precise dilution. HDQ Neutral is a good option for rubber-material flooring in exercise areas and weight rooms as it is effective against SARS-CoV-2, MRSA, HBV, HIV, HCV, and Athlete’s foot fungus. Attack carpet with CX3 Bio-Assist® for heavy-duty soil extraction and odor problems, or the responsibly-formulated Green Solutions® Carpet Cleaner 104. When it comes to wood floors we recommend daily use of Dust Mop/Dust Cloth Treatment, and Strategic Cleaner™ for spot cleaning, damp mopping, or auto scrubbing. For cleaning other types of multi-purpose gym and recreation flooring, TriBase offers outstanding performance, and is Green Seal certified.

Contact Allied Eagle with any questions on chemical usage for various flooring and surface types.
